This is my first blooming Tuesday post. These pics are of my front garden next to the front porch. My husband built this walkway, porch and pergola last summer. All of these perennials were also planted here last summer. Some of them were new plants and a few were transplanted from other gardens in my yard. They are all doing very well and seem to like their home! This garden is full sun from 1pm until sunset
What a beautiful front yard. Your plants look amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you on Bloomin Tuesday. Congrats on your new blog! You'll meet some awesome people here and see so many gorgeous gardens. Your flowers look fantastic. Would your husband build me a pergola too? :-)
ReplyDeletePS - love the rose campion in your header picture. It's one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Bloomin' Tuesday! Very welcoming front area. Your choice of colors is perfect! Love the header shot! Looking forward to seeing more of your bloomers! Jean

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful and very inviting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning color combination! It's amazing that it's just one year old. What a great job your husband did on the pergola, and entrance path.
ReplyDeleteHi! From what I could see of the Pergola, I love it! I need to get my hubby to build me one of those babies! Thanks for sharing.

I have never seen the rose colored liatris..I have the purple(of course since it's my favorite color but would like to have some of this rose color too now that I've seen yours. They come as bulbs? Do you recall where you purchased them from? What do you do with the liatris after they are finished blooming? I cut mine back to the ground, hope I didn't ruin them. Cut off the dried blooms and have them in a paper lunch bag, hoping the seeds fall out so I can plant them. I guess that is how you get more without having to buy more bulbs. Maybe you can tell me if I'm right about that concept.
ReplyDeleteAre those dwarf monarda/bee balm planted in front of your rose colored liatris? Coleus in back of bed or another type of foliage?
ReplyDeleteThe Liatris is just the purple variety. The color just may be a little off in the photo. I purchased them from a local nursery in Northern Michigan. I have not cut them back before, but I do remove the spent blooms. And yes, those are dwarf Bee Balm in front of the Liatris. The plants in back of the bed are Agastache ‘Golden Jubilee’and Chocolate Snake Root. I love the contrast of the lime green and all of the other colors... Thanks for looking!
